The Wisconsin Connection Fund was
established in 1997 by alumni of the University of Wisconsin Madison
as an endowed scholarship fund for undergraduate and graduate students
of the UW - Madison Real Estate Program. The Fund is controlled
in it's entirety by the Wisconsin Connection Fund Committee and
is invested in the University of Wisconsin Foundation to assure
maximum growth potential of the principal. The fund surpassed its
$100k scholarship goal in 2000 and will be positioned in 2004 to
award the first Wisconsin Connection half-time Graduate Fellowship.
to draw $6,000 annually for the purpose of awarding the highly sought
after "Connection Fund" scholarships. Since 1997, the
fund's objectives have expanded to include financial support of
Real Estate Faculty. This is of particular value since the phenomenal
growth of the program at the undergraduate level has led to a real
need for new faculty.
Each alumni transaction resulting
in a donation to the fund is featured in a subsequent issue of the
Equity Kicker, WREAA's newsletter. A record of all transactions
to the fund exists to ensure that individual contributors are personally
and permanently recognized. In addition, an annual award is presented
during the Biennial Wisconsin Real Estate Conference recognizing
the Transaction of the Year. Alumni are encouraged to consider commemorating
"Wisconsin" transactions by making a donation to the fund.
All contributions are tax deductible and should be made payable
to the "UW Foundation." For more information, please contact
the WREAA Administrative Office at (262) 746-9030.
